Setting up your website template:
This template features 6 galleries (more can be added), 54 pictures, a slideshow and image viewer page with an automatically resizing frame. Layered watermarks and no "right click" image protection are setup in the slideshow and image viewer pages.

Step 1:
EDIT FLASH ANIMATION: | Click for more details
Open the "flash.txt" with Notepad or a plain text editor and change "Your Website Title" with your name or company name. Be sure not to delete the "logo=". Also change the "&slogan=Edit with an optional phrase..." for a slogan on the homepage (index.html), or leave this line blank. Be sure not to delete the "&slogan=". This will update the Flash logo on all pages. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document.

Step 2:
EDIT COPYRIGHT: | Click for more details
Open the "copyright.js" in Notepad or any text editor and edit the "Your Company" with your name or company name. This will update the footer info on all pages.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "contact.js" in Notepad or any text editor and edit the company name, address, phone and fax numbers and e-mail address. This will update contact info on the "contact" and "about" pages.

Step 4:
EDIT THE CONTACT FORM:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Step 5:
REPLACE THE GRAPHICS: | Page images | Gallery setup details
Because this template includes a slideshow, the best way to setup the pictures in the gallery and the slideshow at the same time is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

Replace the 6 A-gallery-?.jpg images in the gallery folder. These are used on the gallery.htm "hall" page.

Replace the 54 "Fgallery" pictures in the "gallery" folder with full size photos. Replace the 54 "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 130 x 87 pixels. This is a fixed size to accommodate the picture frames. You can make your full sized pictures any size that you would like, because the picture frame in the viewer and slideshow will automatically resize itself. "Fgallery" images are now 500 x 333 pixels.

Replace the 3 "front-pic" icons with your own pictures. These are used on the homepage.

Replace the "about.jpg", about-pic1.jpg, about-pic2.jpg, and all the other pictures that correspond to each page in the "picts" folder. There are a total of 23 pictures in the "picts" folder that you will probably want to replace with your own pictures.

IMAGE VIEWER OPTIONS: | Click for more details
You can change some options for the gallery image viewer page (image-viewer.htm) by editing the pop-closeup.js in Notepad. Options include new browser window, or popup for the viewer.

Step 6:
custom.htm PAYPAL PAYMENT PAGE:
This template includes a Paypal payment page called "custom.htm". Edit the "paypal@your-web-domain.com" in this page with your Paypal e-mail and you can use this page to accept custom payments by sending clients a link to this page and having them fill in the amount on the payment page. To remove the form, delete the code between the notes for the Paypal form in the "custom.htm".

Step 7:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Change the text on all HTML pages with your information. You can use Frontpage, Dreamweaver, GoLive, any wysiwyg HTML editor or a text editor like Notepad. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text.

Step 8:
EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords to match your product or service. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google or MSN and other search engines.

Step 9:
UPLOAD: | Click for more details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software or Windows Explorer or your control panel. Be sure to upload the "picts" and "gallery" folders and all files in these folders.

Options:

USING A GRAPHIC LOGO:
You can replace the Flash logo with a graphic logo. To do this, delete or rename the "header.js" and the "index.html", then rename the "graphic_logo_header.js" to "header.js" and the "GRAPHIC_LOGO_index.html" to "index.html". In the picts folder you will find a graphic called "logo.gif" and a graphic called "logo_index.gif". Edit these two graphics with your logo. It's best to keep the graphics the same sizes that they are now unless you edit the height and width numbers in the new "header.js" and "index.html".

WATERMARK SETUP: | Click for more details
You can configure the placement, opacity and whether or not to have a watermark over the images in the closeup views. You will edit the "watermark.js" to change options. In the "picts" folder is a .gif image called watermark.gif. You can replace this image with your own .gif image. If you change the size of the watermark.gif you will need to do some extra editing in the watermark.js file. Click here for details. NOTE: The watermark.gif in this template is not transparent.

REMOVING OR CHANGING THE PICTURE FRAMES: | Click for more details
You can remove the picture frames and have a one pixel border around all the images. Delete or rename the "coolstyle.css". Then rename the "NO-FRAMES_coolstyle.css" to "coolstyle.css" to have no frames. Click here for details on using other frame styles. Four frame styles are included with this template in the "extras" folder.

SETTING UP THE SLIDESHOW PICTURES: | Click for more details
The slideshow is currently setup to display all 54 pictures in the gallery folder. If you would like to add or remove pictures from the slideshow, open the slideshow.htm in Notepad and look for the "EDIT THIS AREA" note. Copy and paste to add new pictures to the list, or delete lines to remove pictures. You can also set the AutoPlay speed. Look for "var rotate_delay = 3000".

LINING UP THE GALLERIES:
If you change the notes near the top of the gallery pages, the pictures may no longer line up from one page to the next. To line up the galleries, open the "line_up_pictures.js" in Notepad and change the height="105" to shorten or lengthen all the pages at once.

FONTS: | Click for more details
You can change your font colors and sizes by editing the "coolstyle.css" with a text editor. You can find other font colors by clicking here. You can also change the font sizes in the "coolstyle.css" file. Change the "TABLE" px size to change the copy on all pages. Change the "smalltitle" px size to change all the page title sizes.

CHANGING LINKS / ADDING TO THE MENU: | Click for more details
You can change the names of the links like "about" or "links" to other page names by editing the "menu.js". Only change the one instance of the name and not the name with the ".htm" after it. Whatever you change in the menu.js will change every page on the website. Keep the names short so they don't go outside the menu. You can even add more pages by copying one link in the menu.js and pasting it right below the next. Be sure to back up your files before you edit them.

You can also edit the menu_gallery.js buttons:
Image
Open the "menu_gallery.js" file in Notepad and copy and paste to add more galleries to the navigation.

This template aslo includes a floating menu on the right side of each page. Click here for details and options.

ADDING GALLERIES: | Click for more details
You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add links from the other pages or the gallery. There are notes in the gallery pages to help you copy and paste to add more pictures and more galleries (if you are using Notepad). There are 131 pictures and only 8 or 10 that you won't need to edit. You will find all pictures in the "picts" and "gallery" folders. Be sure to back up your files before you edit them.

PAGE HEIGHTS:
So all your pages will maintain a standard height a "pageheight.js" file was included. Edit this file in Notepad and you can change the height="???" to any height you need.
